POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares, cooks, and serves foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.
REPORTS TO: Lunchroom Manager
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares food according to food safety requirements, and records temperatures of equipment and food at time of service.
- Reinforces the practice of frequent hand-washing and takes steps to prevent cross contamination.
- Monitor temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitor water temperatures to assure proper temperature for sanitizing.
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to standardized recipes.
- Assists in storing unused food and supplies, dispose of unusable leftovers; utilize proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
- Observes and tests food being cooked. Takes the internal temperature of food to determine that it is cooked.
- Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
- Serves food according to established guidelines and replenishing serving containers as needed.
- Keeps accurate records of amounts used.
- Cleans cafeteria equipment, utensils and appliances and stores food supplies; assure compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
- Serves on line as instructed.
- Prepares and bake food for special events as needed; assist at banquets or special events as required.
- Operate Point of Sale software to account for meals during meal service.
- Assist in unloading weekly deliveries.
- Performs any other such duties as so designated by the Principal.
EDUCATION: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or the District will provide an opportunity by the District upon employment to obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma at no cost to the employee.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
